La TAC del Regno Unito (circa 20 parrocchie sotto il vescovo e primate John Hepsworth) ha votato e formalmente approvato la richiesta di aderire all'Ordinariato previsto dalla [futura] costituzione apostolica, e (rispettosamente) propone Robert Mercer per la posizione di ordinario in Gran Bretagna:

This Assembly, representing the Traditional Anglican Communion in Great Britain, offers its joyful thanks to Pope Benedict XVI for his forthcoming Apostolic Constitution allowing the corporate reunion of Anglicans with the Holy See, and requests the Primate and College of Bishops of the Traditional Anglican Communion to take the steps necessary to implement this Constitution.

That this Assembly is of the respectful opinion that Bishop Robert Mercer CR might be considered for the position of Ordinary in Great Britain.

Un'altra notizia interessante è che il primate della TAC ha ripreso per la propria comunità l'indizione dell'"Anno sacerdotale 2009-2010" in conformità ai desideri di Benedetto XVI, preparando speciali celebrazioni dedicate a San Giovanni Vianney:

The Year of the Priest

ARCHBISHOP Hepworth writes: Given our status as a Communion that has formally petitioned for “full, Eucharistic Communion” with the Bishop of Rome, and given the status of that Petition, it strongly befits us to accept wholeheartedly the invitation of Pope Benedict XVI to make the present year “The Year of the Priest”. The year is a particular celebration of the life of St John Vianney, the patron of parish priests. I anticipate special celebrations for our priests both nationally (in conjunction with the National Synod) and in the regions of the Diocese. And this is a time for our laity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of priesthood. I do not have to tell you that one of the most misunderstood matters in global Anglicanism at the moment is priesthood.
